Safe Water for Mathare
Mathare faces a critical water and sanitation crisis, with over 500,000 residents lacking access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities in one of Nairobi's most densely populated slums.
OUR GOAL
To raise $60,000
- Install solar power and Black Box filtration systems
- Add a 10,000 L tank and tower
- Improve infrastructure through kiosks, washing area, floors, & walls
- Create public space for the community
- Partner with a local group to create a sustainable income model
IMPACT
Over 15,000 people will benefit from enhanced water security and stewardship.
This initiative will improve health, family economics, and infrastructure. As well as reduce plastic bottle use, promote community involvement, and establish a sustainable income model for the community.
